Congratulations to our Students of the Quarter! Some of the qualities used by teachers to describe these students were genuine, hard-working, leaders, kind, respectful, resilient and display integrity. Way to go Vivian, Stockton and Harper! We are proud of you. Also our 7th grade music appreciation class performed bucket drumming today during our assembly. They sounded great!

Attention Parents of students in Ag II and Ag III classes. Your students will be going on a field trip on Wednesday October 16 to Mema's Meats in Berthold to learn about the butchering side of Animal Science. We are NOT going on a slaughter day so the students will only see the process of cutting the meat. We will leave at 7:00 am and be back around 3:15 pm. The students should bring money for lunch or else bring a lunch from home. Each student was given a permission slip during class. If the students do not have their permission slip signed they cannot go, so please ask them about them and get them to bring it back.

Sydney Caraballo came to Ms. Bummer's Ag Room on Friday to be a part of the Job's in Agriculture Presentations. She talked about her family's farming and cattle business. The main topic of her presentation was owning and selling their cattle along with explaining Artificial Insemination versus Pasture Breeding. To wrap up her presentation she showed the students their Bull Sale catalog . The students enjoyed talking to Sydney and learning about this part of agriculture. Sydney also brought some Glasoe Angus merchandise for the students to have.

On Monday Sept 30, Kayla Pulvermacher visited with Ms. Bummer's Ag III class to talk about what it means to be a Lobbyist and her job as the Executive Director at the North Dakota Grain Growers Association. Towards the end of her visit, she split the students up into groups, gave them a specific case that she had previously worked on, and had them get to work on their new lobbyist skills. She then had them present what they came up with to her to try to persuade her into voting for their bill. The students were very engaged with Ms. Pulvermacher and enjoyed her presentation.

On August 14, 2024 the NDHSAA Board of Directors approved a Class A Review recommendation to add a minimum penalty for spectators who are ejected from contests during the regular season. The policy was drafted by the NDHSAA Sportsmanship & Citizenship Committee prior to being approved. Any attendee ejected from a regular season or NDHSAA tournament contest will incur a minimum three (3) game/event suspension from that team’s games/events and all other NDHSAA games/events in the interim at any level of competition. If the ejection occurs with fewer than three (3) games/events remaining in the team’s season, the suspension will carry over to the school’s sports season which immediately follows. An attendee ejected for a second time during a school year shall be suspended for a minimum of one (1) calendar year from all NDHSAA regular and postseason events. NDHSAA member schools may increase these minimum penalties at their discretion.
