Divide County School District will not have school today, Wednesday November 20, 2024 due to road and weather conditions.

Due to weather conditions, DCSD will have a 10:00 a.m. start time Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Buses will run. Breakfast will not be served. Early dismissal due to teacher in-service is still scheduled as planned. We will re-evaluate road and weather conditions by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning and will update as needed. Thank you.

We had a great group of kids help pack Thanksgiving Food Pantry Boxes last night for FFA. They packed 53 boxes for those to enjoy. Thank you to those at the Bank of Tioga for helping Ms. Bummer and the students! It was greatly appreciated!




Congratulations to Emma, Easton, and Landyn for being selected to the MSU honor jazz ensemble. This ensemble will co-headline with the Swing Band of Minot in a Friday night concert during the Magic City Jazz Festival on Feb. 13-14, 2025. Way to go Kayla and kids! You make us proud of all your hard work!

The holidays are right around the corner along with the joys and stressors they can bring. Come to the next Parent Café on Wednesday, November, 27, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CT for shared discussion with other parents around this topic.
What exactly is a Parent Café? It’s a chance to connect, reflect and listen to other parents and caregivers. Participants report feeling inspired, supported, and energized by the experience.
As an added benefit, Cafés are eligible for parent education credit hours. Certificates of participation will be sent to participants after each event.

Please join the DCHS Drama Club for The Dummest Play Ever on Nov 15th and 16th at 7pm. The play will be held in the Kirchhofer Auditorium. There will be a free will offering at the door.


The 3rd grade class would like to say Thank You to all Veterans for their service. This week the students wrote and sent over 125 letters to Veterans. Today we want to honor you for the sacrifices you made for our country.






For anyone attending the Region 8 Volleyball Tournament, Monday, November 11, you are invited to wear green in memory of Sara Fredrickson, the Powers Lake-Burke Central assistant volleyball coach, who passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Powers Lake-Burke Central play the third match vs. Trenton at the Well at Williston State College.



Scott Sova and Alan Svangstu visited with Ms. Bummer's Ag III class to talk about New Century Ag. The main topics they discussed were about being an Agronomist and how our area elevator operates. They also touched on the prices of grain along with what kinds of food come from which crops. They ended their visit by talking to the students about their future plans along with the lesson of how college isn't always necessary but helps you out in the future when applying for a job.

The 3rd grade is once again writing letters to Veterans. Students will begin writing their letters next week to say Thank You to these very important individuals. Congratulations to Elydie Johnson and Audrina Fortier who were chosen to the All-Tourney Team for the Northwest Conference Volleyball Tournament in Berthold on October 12. Way to go ladies!



Free Class from NDSU: for parents and pre-teens/teens to stay connected and strengthen relationships.


On Friday October 25th, Amber Haugland and Kari Lesmeister came in to talk to Ms. Bummers Ag III class about Haugland Insurance Services. They explained how insurance works and why you would rather be over insured then under insured. They also went over an interactive graphic on their website on different types of coverage. Towards the end of their visit they talked to the students about car insurance and renters insurance as the students will be experiencing those in a couple of years. They ended their talk with a discussion on college and entering the workforce. Thank you so much Amber and Kari for coming in!
