The Divide County School District (DCSD), officially established on February 15, 1962, serves students in grades K–12 across two campuses located in the heart of rural northwest North Dakota. The district provides a supportive and enriching educational environment for children from across the region, including neighboring communities such as Noonan, Ambrose, Fortuna, and Columbus. Given the district's vast geographic footprint, it’s not uncommon for some students to travel over 30 minutes to school—an experience that highlights the unique rural character and close-knit nature of our community.
DCSD has recently seen promising growth at the early elementary level, particularly in kindergarten, signaling a renewed vitality in the area. This increase aligns with broader regional shifts tied to a resilient agricultural base and the continued influence of oil and gas development, both of which have contributed to population and economic growth over the past decade.
At the core of DCSD’s mission is a commitment to fostering and promoting excellence in education and student-centered learning environment. The district celebrates the rich diversity of its students and families, and remains focused on adapting to the changing needs of its community through thoughtful planning and a dedication to educational excellence. As we move forward, DCSD continues to embrace its role as a hub for growth, opportunity, and lifelong learning in northwest North Dakota.
